Your Voice Matters: Respond to Nacha's Open RFCs and RFIs

Nacha has issued several Requests for Comment (RFC) and Requests for Information (RFI) that directly affect ACH operations, and your feedback helps shape the final rules. SFE encourages all Members Financial to respond before the deadlines.

• ACH Contact Registry — Deadline: June 12

  This RFC proposes allowing the U.S. Treasury's Bureau of the Fiscal Service to participate in the ACH Contact Registry, making it easier for financial institutions and BFS to connect on ACH payments, exceptions, and improper payment issues. Submit Comments
  
  

• Return Efficiencies RFC — Deadline: June 26

  This proposal would shorten return timeframes by 9.5 hours for certain administrative returns based on specific return reason codes — those that can be decisioned by a processing system without manual review. Submit Comments
  
  

• Dishonored and Contested/Corrected Dishonored Return Timeframes RFI — Deadline: June 26

  Nacha is seeking industry input on current timeframes for dishonored returns, ODFI-Originator communications, and the potential benefits of updating these timeframes. Submit Responses
  
  

• Definition of Banking Day RFI — Deadline: June 26

  Nacha is gathering feedback on the meaning and operational significance of "Banking Day" in the Nacha Operating Rules. Aggregated responses will also be shared with both ACH Operators. Submit Responses
